Jody Terranova, DO is a pediatrician at Burgdorf Clinic in the north end of Hartford. She is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics for the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and supervises medical students and pediatric residents as they see patients in the clinic. Residents from Connecticut Children's Medical Center spend one day a week in the clinic for three years and provide primary care to children from the north end of Hartford, Bloomfield, Windsor and other surrounding communities. Many of the children are from families that have been receiving care for multiple generations at Burgdorf and others have just arrived in the United States. A fair number of them have faced economic challenges and complex social situations and some of our patients are the first in their families to attend college. Burgdorf offers many supports to help families be healthy and successful including having a community garden for over 5 years. We grow foods from a variety of cultures that represent our patients' heritage and share the harvests with the families. Please bring an unwrapped toy for a child at the UCONN Children's Hospital.
