Why join the Windsor Chamber of Commerce?

The Windsor Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization of business and professional people who seek to build a healthy, growing local economy and improve the quality of life in our community. By supporting the Windsor Chamber of Commerce you support its mission.

The Chamber strives to invest business insight into educational programs by developing and instituting programs whereby the business community can serve as an outside resource to the schools with the goal of helping to prepare students for today's job market. We do this through the following programs:

  • Student Job Shadowing - More than 80 students are placed in local businesses for a day of shadowing
  • School to Business Partnership - a 24 member board. This partnership developed the REAL program which has been recognized state wide.
  • Internship Program - to support innovative and career oriented programs.
  • New teachers reception - Businesses are invited to a luncheon for new teachers to Windsor.
REAL program teachers one day visit with a business in their area of expertise.

The Chamber provides programs and assistance to the business community with business seminars and lobbying in their interest on the local, state and national levels on issues such as signage, traffic and more. It also provides a variety of events and networking opportunities including:

    Public Perception of Membership:
A recent national study reveals that membership in a chamber of commerce can significantly boost a business's image among consumers, as well as other businesses.

In a scientific survey of 2,000 U.S. adults, The Schapiro Group, an Atlanta-based strategic consulting firm, found positive perceptions of chamber members in a number of areas, including overall favorability, consumer awareness and reputation, and likelihood of future patronage.

The study showed that when respondents were told that a particular business was a of a chamber, they were 44 percent more likely to rate it favorably than study respondents who were not told of the chamber affiliation. Respondents were also 63 percent more likely to want to purchase goods or services from a small business that is a Chamber member.
