About the Artists:

Morgan Giosa is a 27 year-old web developer, blues guitarist, photographer, and visual artist from Windsor, Connecticut. Morgan and his brother Alex, a professional drummer, were raised around music and the arts. Early on, Morgan discovered and developed his own passion for blues guitar. A self-described “old soul,” Morgan’s music is rooted in the 1960s’ electric psychedelic blues of artists such as Michael Bloomfield and Jimi Hendrix as well as in the music of the great electric bluesmen, B.B. King and Albert King. Morgan’s music ultimately comes to him spontaneously from his unique and unconventional intuition, emotions and life experiences. Morgan and his band, The Fake News Blues Band, released their first CD in ………

Frank Varela is a virtuoso jazz guitarist, whose one man band – he plays guitar and bass simultaneously – has played throughout New England. In 2012, Frank, with Bob Laramie and Rick Marshall, recorded and released “Grandma’s Revenge,” a CD of original music. Frank has also performed with accomplished musicians, Larry Coryell and Lenny White. As lead guitarist, he recently released a CD with the Fake News Blues Band.

Geoffrey Willard, blues and rock guitarist, currently performs with the house band at The Hungry Tiger in Manchester, Connecticut, and is the lead guitarist for Ali Kat and the Revelators. Geoff’s primary influences are the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers.

Gene Donaldson, well known musician in the Greater Hartford area for 40 years, has taught guitar and bass at Windsor Music since 1970. Since being guitarist for “The Motown Review" from 1985 to ’92, he has played with his own group, The Stingrays, and has hosted blues jams at venues such as Black Eyed Sally's and The Hungry Tiger. Gene is a lifelong resident of Windsor and has performed on the town green for many Shad Derby celebrations and Thursday Night Concert series.

Tommy Whalen has performed locally and internationally as a long-time lead guitarist for Eight to the Bar. He currently fronts the band Tommy Whalen and the Ragged Edge, which plays a mixture of blues and rock music. He is also a continuing host guitarist at The Hungry Tiger and Black Eye Sally’s.

Located in Windsor, Connecticut, the Windsor Art Center is a nonprofit organization that promotes the visual and performing arts and presents visual art exhibits showcasing the works of a variety of artists working in diverse media and genres and hailing from throughout New England and beyond.
