| | | Please join us on Saturday, February 3, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a special family play morning at Windsor Historical Society. Get out of the house and make new friends while your kids enjoy our train table or build something spectacular with Legos, building blocks and Fisher Price toys. For a taste of colonial life, “milk” Flavia the cow, don colonial costumes and “cook” up a feast! In our Windsor history galleries, Jim Trocchi will power up our working model of the Windsor Locks Canal to demonstrate how boats ascended and descended through the locks for over 100 years. At 10 a.m., Bob Bell will let kids in on some train secrets including whistle codes then pass out train whistles and engineer hats to take home. All in all, a delightful three ring circus! The cost for this family oriented program is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children, $3 for Windsor Historical Society members or $12 per family. We won’t turn anyone away for lack of funds but these modest fees help us cover our costs. For more information, please call 860-688-3813 or windsorhistoricalsociety.org where you can pre-pay for the program if you wish. The snow date is Sunday, February 4, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
And mark your calendars for more family programs including candle-dipping day on February 19th, and hearth cooking and cookie baking on March 3rd.
