Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem The Friends of Northwest Park are pleased to present an evening of American roots music with Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem on Saturday, December 1 at 7:30 pm at the Northwest Park Nature Center in Windsor, Ct. One of “America’s most inventive string bands” (The Boston Herald), Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem mix traditional, original, and contemporary sounds on fiddle, guitar, bass and recycled percussion - and top that with joyous harmonies from four skilled lead singers. The band draws from a deep well of American roots music, and have an adventurous way of mixing things up. With influences from Doc Watson to Django Reinhardt, from Ghanaian drumming to the funky Meters, and from Fiddling’ John Carson to Bob Dylan, daisy mayhem celebrates America’s rich musical past and brings it into the present. These are four musicians who pick up what’s lying around - from tin cans, to old songs, to human stories - and create something new. Northwest Park Nature Center is a alcohol-free, handicap accessible facility located in Windsor, Connecticut. Proceeds benefit the Gordon & Libby Taylor Educational Fund for environmental education at the Park. For information and reservations call 860-285-1886 or on line at www.northwestpark.org. |
