Most insurance are accepted, co-pays and deductibles are the responsibility of the patient and if you do not have insurance Hartford Hospital has donated funds to pay for your screening mammogram. The Partnership for Breast Health states that Connecticut has the second highest breast cancer rate in the nation and close to 3,000 women in Connecticut will discover that they have breast cancer this year. In Connecticut, breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women ages 40 to 55. To decrease the breast cancer mortality rate, early detection is essential. Screening mammograms are the most effective method of early detection of breast cancer in women with no apparent symptoms. When mammography detects breast cancer in an early stage, women who receive prompt treatment have a greater than 90% chance of long-term survival. Early detection can save on the treatment costs as well as the suffering of women and their loved ones. download: Mammography-News-Release-November-26-2018.pdf |
