The Main Library welcomes The Lost Acres String Band on Sunday, October 24 at 3:00 PM for a concert filled with blues, Hispanic dance tunes from New Mexico, a classic by the African-American string band The Mississippi Sheiks, swing tunes from the 1930s, a Ray Charles ballad, Irish and old-time New England fiddle tunes, a bluegrass number by Flatt & Scruggs, and lilting folk music from Colombia. The interplay between these veterans of the Connecticut music scene is not to be missed! Free. 860-285-1918.
