In these days of refrigeration, most people do not know that New England was the center of ice harvesting in the 1800s, sending ice by sailing ships as far away as India. He will share the interesting tale of this once massive enterprise that is now fading from our collective memory and also display some of his antique tools of the trade including several invented in Massachusetts. If conditions permit, participants will have the opportunity to watch an ice harvesting demonstration at the front pond. Ages 8+. $10 Windsor residents; $15 Nonresidents. FONWP Members Free.
