Ah—those long summer evenings coming up: the perfect excuse for a drink! Please join us at Windsor Historical Society on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a fascinating sampling event. Herb –infused drinks with a little history thrown in by the Society’s Education and Outreach Coordinator John Mooney will be featured. You’ll get to sample shrubs (a refreshing non-alcoholic mixture of crushed fruits and vinegar traditionally used as a thirst-quencher), mint juleps (mint, sugar, bourbon with crushed ice), mojitos (rum with lime juice) basil-grapefruit mimosas (champagne and citrus juice) and Moscow mules (vodka with lime and ginger beer). Recipes will be provided along with tasty accompaniments! The cost for this over-21-only program is $15, and $14 for WHS members. For more information, call 860-688-3813 or visit windsorhistoricalsociety.org, where you can now make online program reservations and prepayments. |
