| | | Join us at Windsor Historical Society on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. when board member and educator Liz Burke will share fascinating stories about Revolutionary War period spies. We know George Washington as the father of our country. But did you also know that Washington masterminded a spy ring with dozens of secret agents operating throughout the colonies, including Connecticut’s own Nathan Hale and Windsor’s own Daniel Bissell. How did they do it? You’ll discover that covert actions, codes, and dead drops are nothing new, and may find yourself surprised by the sophistication of the spies operating during the Revolutionary War period. Hear some enthralling stories of successes and failures, plus some hair-breadth escapes. Adults and family groups are welcome at this program. Cost: $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children, $3 for Windsor Historical Society members or $12 per family. For more information, contact 860-688-3813 or windsorhistoricalsociety.org. The snow date is Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m. |
