| | | The Windsor Art Center opens Imagine 2: Art from the Heart: Selected artworks by Dan J. Ferraina and Jane G. Pelton. The exhibition runs from March 9 through April 13. Join us in celebrating the works of these two long-time residents of Windsor. Finding artistic expression to be vital to their personal journeys, each artist has been on a self-directed exploration of color, composition and concept in uniquely different styles. As a result, they have created art that speaks from the heart.
Artist Talk: Saturday, April 6, from 1:30-2:30: Dan Ferraina will speak about his artistic journey along with a special appearance of his “SuperdeForaina.” FREE.
Dan J. Ferraina has been a resident of Windsor, Connecticut, for 73 years. After graduating from UCONN with a degree in zoology, he taught science for a few years, soon thereafter embarking on a lifetime of developing real estate. He presently owns commercial real estate and is a firm believer in philanthropy. He and his wife of sixty years have three children and seven grandchildren. Mr. Ferraina has created three-dimensional art and drawings as long as he can remember. After experiencing a severe illness several years ago, he managed his own rehabilitation by using art as therapy. His first exhibit at the Windsor Art Center in 2017 displayed his miniature buildings made from a continuous piece of cardboard. Now, Dan’s exploration in two-dimensions deconstructs 3D shapes, creating dynamic and fascinating works that give viewers a chance to interpret and explore multiple viewpoints of their own. |
