For a full day of fun, family activities, good food and entertainment, come to Windsor's Northwest Park on Saturday, Sept. 16 for the 35th Annual Country Fair at the Park on Lang Road in Windsor, CT. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, Sept. 17 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.) Participate in the Cake Walk or Egg Drop Contest; Carve a pumpkin, Build a scarecrow; or just sit back and enjoy music by a variety of entertainers. Win a Blue Ribbon in the Kitchen and Garden Contests by entering your best baked goods, fruit preserves or other kitchen creations, backyard garden produce and/or flower arrangements. Local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be on hand to share the exciting skills and activities that local youth can learn and participate in as a scout. Included again this year is a Silent Auction. Bid on a variety of items and gift baskets. New this year is a Jump Rope Winding activity where anyone may create their own jump rope. Proceeds from the Silent Auction and Jump Rope Winding will be dedicated to the upgrading of the Maple Sugar Shack. The entire day promises to be a fun time for the whole family. Admission is only $3 for children, $4 per adult or $12 maximum per family and free for children under 3. Parking is FREE.
