Hike Northwest Park Full Sap Moon
Windsor’s Northwest Park Presents
“Full Sap Moon Hike”

Come out to Northwest Park on Thursday, March 21st for a guided Full Moon Hike from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This moon was known to Native Americans as the “Full Sap Moon”, as it marks the time when maple sap begins to flow and the annual tapping of maple trees begins. If snow conditions permit, bring your own snowshoes or borrow ours. MUST preregister, space is limited. The cost is $10.00 Windsor resident, $15.00 non-resident. Pancake Breakfast at Northwest Park

The Friends of Northwest Park announce plans to hold their 34th annual Pancake Breakfast at Northwest Park, in Windsor, on Saturday March 23ed from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Since the first weekend in February, park volunteers have been busy taking the sweet sap from the sugar maples of Northwest Park and making it into the sweet syrup that will be featured on pancakes. This full breakfast has become a rite of spring and a fitting conclusion to the busy activities at the sugar house.

Join us on Saturday, March 23 at 10 AM for a special program on trains. Our Hands-On-History Learning Center will be transformed with model railroads and train-oriented play tables. Bob Bell in costume as the Railroad Baron leads the fun. Play with Lionel and G-scale sized trains, learn some secret train whistle codes and get your own whistle to take home. Make a paper engineer’s hat and play a piston game showing how a steam locomotive works. Learn how railroads got started and how locomotives and train cars changed over the years.
