Windsor’s Northwest Park Presents
“Winter Solstice Full Moon Hike”

Join Northwest Park staff on Saturday, December 22nd from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM for a Winter Solstice Full Moon Hike. The air is getting chilly as the winter season officially starts in Connecticut. See the seasonal changes happening all around us as we explore the trails illuminated by the full Cold Moon. Be sure to bundle up in warm clothing layers. Open Skate at Loomis Ice Rink
Loomis Chaffee has announced the public open skate times for winter weekends: December 30; January 6, 13 and 20; February 10 and 17

1:00 – 2:30 PM - Open Hockey (pucks and sticks permitted; helmets required)
2:45 – 3:45 PM - Open Skate (no pucks or sticks)

Admission is free of charge. There is no skate rental available, and children must be supervised by an adult. Questions may be directed to Mike Monti, rink manager, at (860) 687-6006.

Vacation Camp
Vacation Camp at the Community Center at 330 Windsor Avenue, is for all elementary students during the holiday break, Tuesday, through Friday, December 26 through December 28 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Students will enjoy their winter break with friends, games, sports, activities, arts & crafts and much more. Students should bring their own lunch and we’ll provide a snack. $25.00 per child per day.

Socktober - winter sock collection
Windsor C.A.R.E.S. SOCKTOBER- The summer has ended and the winter months will be upon us before we know it. The winter months are extremely difficult for those who are homeless and need to stay warm. C.A.R.E.S. will be collecting NEW winter socks throughout the month of October to be distributed this holiday season to those in need.

NEW socks can be dropped off at the Social Services office at the LP Wilson Community Center.
