Festival of Wreaths
Please join us for our 1st Annual Festival of Wreaths on November 29 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Kimberly Hall North has provided wreaths to various businesses & our community for decorating. On the evening of the event there will be appetizers, cocktails, music as well as a Silent Auction. All proceeds will go to The Alzheimer’s Association.

ACE Hardware Fundraiser
On Saturday, November 17 (the Saturday before Thanksgiving) between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Windsor Ace Hardware at 296 Broad St. will host a fundraiser for the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank that also offers donors a shopping discount in the store that day. Anyone who comes in and contributes at least $5 will receive a free 5-gallon utility bucket and 20 percent off on almost anything in the store that fits in it.

Volunteers and staff from the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank will be at the Windsor Ace Hardware entrance in the Geissler’s Supermarket parking lot to personally accept donations and thank everyon

Storytelling Festival
Do you want to share your story about working in tobacco? Join us for an afternoon of interviews at the museum. All are encouraged to participate. Mary Mahoney will facilitate conversation and capture oral history recordings.

Mary Mahoney is the Andrew W. Mellon postdoctoral researcher in digital humanities at Trinity College. She is a historian who works with the public to tell stories with sound. Mary is also the Founder of a digital community storytelling project called Audio Shelfie and the host of a podcast called Chapters. You can find her podcast on your favorite podcasting app.

Nutmeg Senior Rides Volunteer Info
Good drivers make good friends. Join the Volunteer driver team at Nutmeg Senior Rides and help a friend you haven’t met yet with a ride to the doctor, work, the store, a friend’s house or to church.

Nutmeg Senior Rides is a private not-for-profit 501 c3 and they need drivers in North Central Connecticut to drive people over 50 who can no longer drive get where they need to be. Drivers can choose the rides they do online to fit their schedule.
