Americana 1: 1st Generation Artists
Rough Edges Art Productions (REAP) and the Windsor Art Center have joined hands to present the work of two first generation Latin American artists Balam Soto and Corina Alvarezdelugo. The exhibition runs from October 25-November 24 with a public reception on Saturday, October 27 5-7 PM at the Windsor Art Center, 40 Mechanic Street, Windsor, CT. Americana 1 will include a Brazilian jazz concert on November 4th @ 3 PM with Joe Carter and Isabella Mendes, and the film Ellis and panel discussion I Am America on November 8 at 6 pm.

Town of Windsor's - One Book One Windsor is a community reading featuring the book White Houses, by Amy Bloom. On October 27th One Book, One Windsor is inviting you to join us in visiting Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill Cottage & the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park, NY.

The Trip includes transportation and entrance into both museums at a cost of $50 for adults and $30 for seniors and children. The group will gather for lunch after the first tour at a local establishment.

Christopher Miner Spencer Exhibit!
Please join us at Windsor Historical Society on Tuesday, October 30 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM: when we open a new exhibit, Christopher Miner Spencer: An Inventive Mind. Christopher Minter Spencer (1833-1922) was one of the most ingenious Connecticut residents of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born in Manchester, he spent much of his adult life in Windsor and raised his family here. His famous Spencer Repeating Rifle (patented in 1860) was tested by President Lincoln himself. In 1882, he patented the Spencer Repeating Shotgun, and in 1883, incorporated Spencer Arms Company in Win

Socktober - winter sock collection
Windsor C.A.R.E.S. SOCKTOBER- The summer has ended and the winter months will be upon us before we know it. The winter months are extremely difficult for those who are homeless and need to stay warm. C.A.R.E.S. will be collecting NEW winter socks throughout the month of October to be distributed this holiday season to those in need.

NEW socks can be dropped off at the Social Services office at the LP Wilson Community Center.
