Voices Against Lyme Disease a 501(c)3, based in Windsor, CT is continuing their Support Group for those with a tickborne illness or a family member and friends. This group meets on the first and third Saturday of every month and is free to anyone wishing to join us. We use strict COVID 19 guidelines for our meetings. In addition, to support discussions we also provide up to date research information on tick borne illnesses, awareness and prevention.

All proceeds from our "Breakfast Sandwich A GoGo will go to Windsor's Project Santa. Visit us at LP Wilson for this "no contact, drive through" delicious event. Do you think you have one of the best-decorated houses in Windsor, CT this holiday season? Windsor Recreation & Youth Services will be conducting the Second Annual Deck the House: Holiday Light Contest this year! Winners of each prize will win Visa Gift Cards and bragging rights!.

Applications must be received no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020. Deck the House has no entry fee and is completely free. Judging will be done from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM on Tuesday, December 15th, 2020.

This presentation also provides practical recommendations for optimum coexistence with our black bear population.

Tutoring Program at Wilson Branch
Did you know that the Wilson Branch Library offers free tutoring to children who live in Windsor between grades 1-8? This program is a great opportunity for your child to get extra help on their homework assignments.

The start date is December 1st and the program runs Monday-Wednesday for one hour sessions once a week after school. All tutoring sessions will occur remotely via Zoom, and applications for this program can be found at the Branch or on our website.

Torchlight Parade

Torchlight Parade
Come out on Sunday, December 6th at 6:00 pm for First Town Downtown’s annual holiday Torchlight Parade.

The Torchlight parade includes holiday-lighted vehicles and marchers who process through town with lights, music and fanciful decorations! Grab a spot near the street to watch the brightly decorated fire trucks parade by in their holiday glory.

Masks and 12 foot social distance between households, which will be conveniently marked off, will be required. The parade route starts at Windsor High School, goes down Capen Street and then on Broad Street to the center of town. Let’s stay safe
