The Windsor Conservation Commission and the Windsor Garden Club are co-sponsoring a Public Education Forum on Invasive Plants, Thursday, April 20, at the Windsor Town Hall from 6:30-8:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend this Free Forum to lean about types of invasive plants, how they are impacting our natural habitats, landscapes, and personal property; and what can be done to control them.

The seventh annual 1040EZ Run
The seventh annual 1040EZ Run, a 5K Road Race to benefit the Windsor Police Cadets, presented by The Hartford and Integrity Graphics, Inc, will be held rain or shine on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Oliver Ellsworth School, 730 Kennedy Road, Windsor, CT.

Walkers are welcome.

The Race starts at 10:40 AM. Registration is from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The cost is $20.00 to pre-register ($25.00 After April 15, 2017).

Race highlights include chip timing, easy on-line registration, free injury assessment and pre/post-race massages, goodie bags (first 100 to register), music, a pre-race warm-up

American Red Cross Certified Babysitter’s Training Class will be held at 330 Windsor Avenue Community Center from 9:00am – 3:30pm on Saturday, April 22 . Babysitter’s Trainingis designed to teach 11-15 year olds how to: respond to emergencies with first aid, rescue breathing and more, make good decisions under pressure, communicate effectively with parents, recognize safety and hygiene issues, manage young children, feed, diaper and care for infants, and start a babysitting business! Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certification card. $90.00 per participan

This 5th annual Shad Derby event is sponsored by the Windsor Woman's Club. It will take place on Saturday April 22, 2017 from 6:30-9pm at The Saint Gabriel Church Hall, 379 Broad St., Windsor , CT 06095. The cost is $30 per person.

Attendees must be over 21 years old or older. You will be able to sample local beer and wine. Appetizers will be served by Windsor's own Dom's Broad St. Eatery !! There will also be a silent auction.

Proceeds to benefit Windsor Woman's Club Scholarships.

Junior Farm Apprentice Program
Join the staff at Northwest Park for a 6 week program which runs each Friday afternoon from April 21st through May 26th at 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM The “Jr. Farm Apprentice” program offers an opportunity for students ages 8-12 years old to experience a connection between raising healthy livestock, growing a variety of plants and eating well. Experience Spring on the farm at Northwest Park! Students will learn homesteading skills such as feeding livestock, collecting eggs, spinning wool, growing and harvesting vegetables and cooking. Shad Derby 5K Road Race & Fun Walk
The Shad Derby 5k Road Race & Fun Walk sponsored by the Windsor Kiwanis will be held in Windsor Center on Shad Derby Day. The race now features electronic timing provided by the Last Mile Racing Co and for an additional fee on line registration.

The 5K Run and 2.5K Fun Walk will begin and end at the Elm and Broad Street (Route 159) intersection in Windsor Center, Windsor, Connecticut 06095. Registration will start at 8:45AM on race day. Start time is at 10:00AM for both the Run and Walk. Parking is available in Windsor Center and at Sage Park School. There is a discount for preregistration.
