Fire Department Pancake Breakfast
Firefighters will hold their annual “Fisherman’s Breakfast” at the Hayden Station Fire Company firehouse on Saturday, April 8 . While the event traditionally coincides with the opening of the Shad fishing season, it is open to everyone. The breakfast takes place from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
You don’t have to be a fisherman to enjoy the food and the company. Just show up, make an $8 donation, and dig in. (Advance tickets are only $7.)

The breakfast will be buffet-style and all-you-can-eat. Pancakes and scrambled eggs with sausage and home fries are the main attractions. Coffee, juice, and milk

Porch Party Mamas in Concert
The Friends of Northwest Park are pleased to offer an evening of Urban Folk featuring The Porch Party Mamas on Saturday April 8th at 7:30 pm at the Northwest Park Nature Center in Windsor.

Inspired by playing and singing each others songs at their own “porch parties”, these established Boston area musicians and singer/songwriters decided to combine their individual talents and create their own brand of Urban Folk, Country and Blues. These plots are 36’ x 36’, are pre-harrowed and marked for those wishing to use their “green thumb.” The cost is $35.00 for Windsor residents, $45.00 non-residents. Shad Derby Trivia Contest at the Windsor Historical Society
Think you know everything? Test your knowledge at the Shad Derby Trivia Contest on Thursday, April 6th , 2017 from 7-9 pm at the Windsor Historical Society. Teams of up to 6 members (age 21 and up only) can compete during five rounds of questions ranging from general knowledge to Windsor-specific facts. The winning team will receive a $50 gift card from the Union Street Tavern, the so-gaudy-it’s-cool Shad Derby Trivia Trophy, and bragging rights for a full year. Youth in grades 1 through 3 can experience a new adventure and have fun at Wildlife Detective Camp. This exciting camp will focus on science experiments, life on a working farm and daily hikes going out to experience nature. Grandparents are invited to bring their grandchildren to the Senior Center on Wednesday, April 12 (vacation week) from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Grandparents and grandchildren will enjoy dinner, bingo games, and prizes! Doors open at 4:00pm, and dinner will be served from 4:30-5:30. Bingo will be played from 5:45-7:00pm.
