Chamber eNews for September 1: Uncertain Times
As we head toward the fall and winter, we consistently hear from businesses that uncertainty is their biggest challenge. So, too, from parents and educators as schools reopen across Connecticut for the first time since March. We don't know what tomorrow will bring, or where we'll be a month from now. This is causing considerable stress across the community.

All we can be certain of right now is that we need to be able to cope with uncertainty about the health of our businesses, our bodies, our children. The challenge is to make the most informed decisions we can for ourselves, our businesses, and our community, and to modify our decisions when the evidence dictates—as our leading researchers and public officials are already doing.

The Windsor Small Business Recovery Center is here to help deal with uncertainty. From building resiliency into your business plan, managing a remote workforce, and adapting your marketing strategy, to community relief efforts, conversations on child care, and maintaining the school-to-workforce pipeline, the WSBRC is dedicated to helping Windsor adapt and thrive in this uncertain time. Please call us at 860-688-5165 or reply to this email and we will help you, or connect you with someone who can.

The Windsor Small Business Recovery Center is made possible by a generous grant from Windsor Federal Savings and the partnership of the Town of Windsor.

Our annual Chamber Golf Outing is coming up fast, this September 14th! This safely socially distanced golf outing will include on-course food stations and an open drinks cart. Raffles will be available during the round to enter and pick up at end of round. No lingering on the patio after you're finished golfing! On-course contests & scoring will be sent electronically after everyone is finished. It will be a great (and safe!) day; click here to register. Space is limited to 25 foursomes, so reserve your spot today! All proceeds will support Windsor Small Business Recovery Center programming.

A big thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, PeoplesBank, and Eagle Sponsor Webster Bank. Thanks also go to our Beverage Cart Sponsors, Carmon Community Funeral Homes and the Windsor Jaycees. Other tournament sponsors include Cruise Planners, Day Hill Dental, Express Employment Professionals, The Preserve at Great Pond, and Attorney Jacqueline Reardon.

There's still room for more--click here to check out available sponsorships to get your name and logo in front of Windsor's most hip and connected golfers. We're also seeking items for our famous raffle and goodie bags.

Tavern Trot 2020

2020 TAVERN TROT WILL BE VIRTUAL!
There is a great deal of uncertainty going forward with large scale events. The health and safety of our participants and volunteers are at the forefront of our minds as we try to plan our event. Therefore, we have made the decision to convert our race to a virtual race this year.

Converting to virtual will allow us to still hold an event in the safest way possible while still being able to provide much needed relief to charitable organizations - such as Alex's Lemonade Stand. You will still be able to get a t-shirt and run 3.5 miles, just without the crow
