Go Baby Go

Windsor Public Schools is participating in the GoBabyGo program for its third year. GoBabyGo is an event (this year the morning of Saturday, March 30) where Windsor students retrofit a power-wheels car for a toddler with mobility issues. Giving these kids the gift of zoom is a wonderful experience for them, the high schoolers who do the work, and the sponsors. They're still seeking three $300 sponsors for vehicles. Windsor Public Schools Grade 4 Humanities Curriculum Industry Partnership Activity

A representative from a local business or industry will pose an “industry problem” to small groups of students. The students work as a team of critical thinkers to solve the problem and to present their solutions to an audience. A representative from the business or industry attends the presentation to provide students with instant and actionable feedback about their ideas.

Windsor is the 16th Safest Town in Connecticut!

SafeWise has released a list of what it deems the 20 safest cities and towns in Connecticut based on FBI crime report statistics. With a violent crime rate of 0.73 per thousand, and a property crime rate of 27.67 per thousand, Windsor came in at #16 out of 169! Our policing, community and youth development, and economic growth all contribute to keeping Windsor a surprisingly safe community. We're grateful to all the people who work night and day to keep it that way.

Windsor Students Seek Summer Jobs

As part of its commitment to developing the local workforce, the Chamber is partnering with the Windsor Public Schools to coordinate a Summer Youth Employment Program. We seek to provide summer work experiences that are enriching and productive both for the student and the employer. The program consists of job skills training before the summer starts and ongoing support throughout the summer.

If you will have any entry-level, temporary part-time jobs available this summer, please call the Chamber office at 860-688-5165 and let us match you with enthusiastic young people!
