Dear Chamber Members, It is once again that time of year to start thinking of the upcoming holidays. In the years past you have always been so generous with your giving to the Emergency Services/Social Services Annual Toy Drive. Again this year we need your help to ensure that the families in Windsor who are struggling will have a happy holiday season. This year we are anticipating being able to provide gifts for over 300 children. Our numbers in the Food Bank have doubled since this time last year and there does not appear to be an end in sight. We are aware of the difficulties families are facing during these tough economic times. Some families are choosing between buying food and paying the rent. Gift cards this year are more valuable than ever. Many families could use a grocery store card or a card to a department store to purchase household items. Our needs are great and we are so appreciative of your continued support. Toys and gifts for the older children; between 9-13 years of age are always needed as well. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated. The PROJECT SANTA team will be present outside your upcoming Holiday breakfast on December 11th. At this time we will be collecting donated items to be distributed through PROJECT SANTA. Look for Santa's sleigh and his elves!! Without the assistance from local businesses and citizens this program could not reach as many families as we do during this season. Thank you. Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me at 683-1068. Sincerely, Deborah Sheldon Social Services Town of Windsor |
