The event was attended by many town officials, and also a number of business leaders who stressed to the new teachers the importance the town places on its schools. "If it was in my hands, you would have the highest salary in the land," told the group WCC vice president Beverly Boucher of ALSTOM Power Inc., who emceed the event. The event was catered by Bart's Beanery, and many commented on Carol Engelmann's chocolate cupcakes. The new teachers also had an opprtunity for a first look at the oldest town in Connecticut, during a bus tour around the town's landmarks. Welcome to all!
