Each year, the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and the Windsor Public Schools work together to offer business people the opportunity to support Windsor school children through the "Businesses Fueling Minds Through Books" program. "Not many towns have a strong relationship between the public schools and the Chamber of Commerce like Windsor does," says Jane Garibay, Executive Director of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce. "We value education. These students are our future business leaders." Business people have a chance to talk to the students and answer questions about their jobs in addition to reading them an entertaining story. There are over 65 classrooms in Windsor grammar schools. Each year the Chamber organizes businesses who donate funds so each classroom can have a copy of the book. Each business has its name written on the inside cover and sends a volunteer to read it to one of the classrooms. This year's books were: "I Can Be Anything", "Daft Bat" and "Running Shoes". Jayne M. Hastings, Human Resources Assistant for Emhart Glass Manufacturing Inc. said, "I thoroughly enjoyed reading to Ms. Smith's classroom! The children were so well behaved and inquisitive. I would certainly volunteer to do this again. Thanks for organizing such a worthwhile and motivational get-together."
