Our annual Shad Derby Blood Drive took place on Friday, May 13th and was another rousing success. The event showcases the abundance of support Windsor residents show for their community.
The Shad Derby Blood Drive, along with the Shad Fish fundraiser (where you donate $1 for a paper fish to post on the wall at participating locations) are the Chamber of Commerce's contributions to the Shad Derby season. Each organization that is a member of the Shad Fest Bureau sponsors one event during the Shad season leading up to the parade/festival day. We chose to hold a blood drive every year to remind people that it can be easy to support our community. Not everyone can support local fundraiser with monetary donations, but giving blood is a quick way almost any one can help out their fellow man, and actually save a life!
