We are having a tough time getting enough blood donors to come out and donate what our hospitals need. Here is some information that if you could put it in your newsletter or send out to your members it would help:
· The supply of Type O negative and Type B negative blood continues to be at critical levels and has not recovered.
· The summer months typically mean a decline in blood donations as donors become busy with seasonal activities and overlook donating blood.
· All blood types are need; especially O negative and B negative.
· While all blood types are needed during the critical summer months, type O negative blood is crucial because it can be transfused to patients with any blood type, especially in emergency situations.
