| The Tourism committee through the Windsor Chamber of Commerce gets together monthly to discuss and work on unique and fun events including the Windsor Wade & Tea Fair, the Passport to Summer Fun and Theme Trips. Members include volunteers from local businesses and organizations, as well as the general public. "We are always looking for new members," says Executive Director, Jane Garibay. "The events we host differentiate us from other towns and are a lot of fun to plan." "The Chamber's mission is to support and strengthen the Windsor business community. Promoting tourism aligns nicely with our goal, supporting our retail, restaurants, hotels and other businesses. With tourism in mind, we are able to provide many programs that Windsor residents enjoy, too," says Garibay. The Passport program brings people to Windsor from other towns and states to enjoy Windsor restaurants and attractions and offers participants a chance to win great prizes like a Flip Video Camera or an iPhone. Another annual event the Tourism committee puts together is the Wade & Tea Fair; an annual tradition in Windsor since 2006. The fair serves Wade collectors (people all over the world collect the figurines, many found in boxes of Red Rose Tea) and tea enthusiasts. The fair brings people to Windsor from all across the US, Canada and England. The Tourism committee is a good group to join if you'd like to get involved in planning local events, meeting new people and doing something positive for the Windsor community. Meetings are held on the first Friday of each month at the Chamber office at 261 Broad Street (between Town Hall and CVS) at 8:30 am. To join the fun, please call 860-688-5165.
