| Great news! We are very pleased to announce that the Town of Windsor has approved our application to the Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program. Our goal is to raise the $40,000 necessary to expand the Windsor High School Summer Youth Employment Program to provide summer employment to 50 WHS students next summer. For the last two years, the Chamber has worked with Windsor Public Schools through the School/Business Partnership to provide funding and job sites for this innovative program. The purpose of the program is to place talented Windsor youth in business and industry placement to prepare them for higher education and the workplace. The program identifies students through a teacher recommendation process, provides classroom instruction in the 'soft skills' critical to workplace success prior to placement and offers ongoing support to students through visits with a teacher mentor throughout the program. We need your help! Your donation will allow us to subsidize up to 50 students' worksite placements at local businesses as well as provide ongoing support by teacher mentors. Your donation of $250 or more also will provide a tax credit of 60% (please see attached sheet). If you qualify for the tax credit, please complete the enclosed form. This form must be mailed or hand-delivered to the Department of Revenue Services between September 15, 2012 and October 1, 2012.
