The Windsor Chamber of Commerce held their April Business After Hours event at J. Morrissey & Company Inc. in Windsor with guest speaker Commissioner Catherine Smith. Windsor Chamber of Commerce president, Kristen Barbarotta said, "Commissioner Catherine Smith answered questions from the business community with an openness and grace." Catherine Smith is the Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), the lead state agency responsible for attracting and retaining businesses and jobs, revitalizing neighborhoods and communities, expanding affordable housing opportunities and fostering appropriate development in Connecticut's towns and cities. The Commissioner explained several state projects that help businesses of all sizes create jobs, listed the ways the state is working towards generating more tourism for Connecticut, and stressed the revitalizing our capital city whose growth can energize the surrounding communities. "It was J. Morrissey's pleasure to partner with the Windsor Chamber in hosting this Business After Hours event.
