Tourism Committee Meeting

Present: 

Jane Garibay, Paula Pierce, Ashley Williams, Christine Ermenc, Becca Mockalis, Phyllis Stargardter

Meeting Notes:

1.     Walking Tour:

·      Windsor Center Walking Tour-Loop from center green to Historical Society & palisade Green.

Possible stops to include:  First Church, Pleasant Street, Elm-Grove Cemetery, Washington Park, and Grace Church.

Christine to supply list of stops from previous tour.

·      CT Main Street Grant? 

Ashley to check with Ann Parkhurst about previous grant.

Jane to contact Deb Maccarone about grant writing.

(possibly contact John Samone of CT Main St Program.)

Tech Committee to look into Phone Apps.

·      Blue Zone; Healthy Town?

·      Fit Bit pedometer?

·      Bicycle Loan Program?  Friends of Windsor Public Library.

 

2.     Flyer:

·      Paula made sample pamphlet (tri-fold). “Hidden Gems of Windsor”

Possibly add transportation and hotels.

Check Oliver Ellsworth Homestead for quote for flyer.

 

3.     E-news Subscribers:

·      Automatically sign up new members?

·      Unsubscribe option.

·      Submit to “What’s Going on in Windsor”

·      Press release.

·      Schools.

·      PSA on “How to post event on WCC website calendar.”
