Letter to Businesses
| January 14, 2010 Dear Windsor Chamber of Commerce Member, The Windsor Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Windsor High School, is co-sponsoring a Career Job Shadowing Day on April 7, 2010. We are presently looking for businesses willing to host one or more high school students for a day of job shadowing (enclosed please find an information sheet describing Job Shadowing). We are interested in attracting a variety of local businesses that can offer a glimpse into their field of expertise. At the end of this experience we hope students will be further motivated to pursue high academic performance and more focused career exploration. Our Career Job Shadowing Day will start with a breakfast sponsored by the Windsor Rotary club. The breakfast will be held in the Windsor High School cafeteria from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. At that time students are introduced to those hosts who are able to attend. By 9:00, hosts depart with their students if they are providing transportation. All other students are transported to and from the work sites by school bus. Students arrive at their sites between 9:15 and 9:45 AM and leave around 1:30 PM. Please return the enclosed form by Monday, February 1. Fax the form to Ann Parkhurst, School/Business Liaison for Windsor Public Schools, at 860-687-2018. We will be in contact with your organization upon receipt of an affirmative reply to provide additional details and to answer any questions.
