The Town of Windsor’s Holiday Observance Committee has announced that the annual Veteran’s Day Observance will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Council Chambers at Windsor Town Hall located at 275 Broad Street. The public is welcome to attend.
This year’s speaker is Sergant Daniel Parlapiano, US Army. Parlapiano served 18 years in the Connecticut National Guard. From August 2009 through August 2010, he served in the 1/69 avn Battalion task force havoc, providing air support for all of Kuwait and southern Iraq. From June 2014 through June 2015 he served in the 306th Military Intelligence Battalion in Afghanistan. Dan’s primary mission was aerial surveillance and reconnaissance. During that time he flew more than 600 missions of reconnaissance and surveillance over eastern Afghanistan Currently Dan is assigned to 143rd Military Police Company. He currently works for the Manchester Police Department and lives in Windsor with his two daughters Julia 13 and Ella 12.
In addition to the main speaker, the Windsor High School Band will perform, and Windsor Scout Troop 149 and the Windsor High ROTC will be presenting the flags. For more information, call 860-285-1835.
