Artists in the LGBTQIA+ community are using their artwork to address coming out, acceptance by friends and family and, most importantly, acceptance of self and how that has changed over the last 50 years. The Art Center will host a series of events highlighting the LGBTQIA+ community throughout May and June. Saturday, June 4 from 12pm-2pm Nance Lomax, the youngest survivor of the Stonewall riots, will speak to her experience. Nance travels from Philadelphia to be here for us and we are honored. Saturday, June 11 from 12pm-2pm- Nichole Mayweather-Banks, LCSW, will discuss the problem of homelessness within the trans community and will explain concepts or gender, sex, sexuality and barriers faced by this segment of the population.    | |||||||
