Students will use a cleaned gourd bowl 5" - 7" in diameter. Using a heat-controlled wood-burner they will stencil maple leaves onto the bowl. Metallic ink dyes will be used and students will learn how to blend the colors together to create the beautiful shimmering look of fall leaves. The interior of the bowl will be painted black. The bowl can be used for dried flowers, candy, or just a lovely centerpiece for the fall. Class fees are $60 plus a $15 materials fee. Class size is limited. Students are asked to bring lunch, snack and a beverage. Parking is available opposite the Windsor Station apartments on Mechanic Street as well as in the adjoining railroad parking lot. Located in Windsor, Connecticut, the Windsor Art Center is a nonprofit organization that promotes the visual and performing arts and presents visual art exhibits showcasing the works of a variety of artists working in diverse media and genres and hailing from throughout New England and beyond. Artist “talks” and children’s activities complete the annual programming. There is no charge to visit the gallery or the on-site gift shop which features locally made art. Parking is free and easily accessible. For more information on scheduled programs and exhibits, membership, and performing or exhibiting in the gallery, visit www.windsorartcenter.org |
