What could be more fun than imbibing history and wine at the same event? Join us as we uncork “Windsor and the World of Colonial Wine” Wednesday, July 27 from 7 to 8 PM at Windsor Historical Society. Award-winning historian and educator Jennifer Regan-Lefebvre will serve up a spirited discussion of wine consumption in colonial Windsor and the surprising role that the wine trade played in binding together the 18th-century British empire. Using examples from Windsor Historical Society’s collections and from her own well-fermented research into British history, Dr. Regan-Lefebvre will illustrate how this wine consumption and trade shaped our cultural and social history.

Jennifer Regan-Lefebvre is a professor of history at Trinity College, Hartford and the author of Imperial Wine: How the British Empire Made Wine's New World (April 2022). She was named one of the "Future 50" of the global wine industry by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2019, and she teaches the popular course The World History of Modern Wine for EdX.org. A fellow of the Royal Historical Society, she holds a PhD and MA in history from Queen's University Belfast.
