Backyard Homestead (Chickens) Have you ever considered raising your own farm animals for products or meat? Join the staff at Northwest Park on Sunday, May 7th from 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. for a Backyard Homestead Program on Chickens. A great way to start and easy to raise, chickens will provide you with nutritious eggs & meat, add great nutrients to your compost pile, fertilize your grass and help control insect pests. Chickens are also fun & entertaining for people of all ages. This class will cover the basics of raising your own backyard chickens, including housing, health management, weather, predators, and more! Program is Free. Registration required.
