Citizen’s Academy

Citizen’s Academy
The Town of Windsor’s Citizen’s Academy begins on October 5th at 7:00 PM in the town hall council chambers. There is still time to sign up. The seven-week interactive Citizen’s Academy will continue to meet on Thursday evenings, meeting at various town facilities including the Police Station, Library and community centers. Participants will go behind the scenes and see what happens in the day-to-day operations of the town.

Mixed media collage workshop, Through Your Eyes: September 30, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Create mixed media collage artwork highlighting your neighborhood and create a sense of place with artist Meredith Arcari. Cost: $30 plus material fee of $10.

On behalf of the artists, Windsor Art Center will humbly be accepting donations at the opening, as well as throughout the exhibit, for My Sister’s Place, Inc. which provides shelter and services to women. In addition, 50% of sales on a selection of the artworks will be donated to My Sister’s Place.

20th Annual CRIS Radio Golf Classic
New Country Motor Cars will be the title sponsor of CRIS Radio’s 20th Annual Golf Classic on Oct. 4 at Tunxis Golf Plantation in Farmington. This will be the third consecutive year New Country Cars has supported CRIS Radio’s golf fundraiser.

CRIS Radio – Connecticut Radio Information System – is a 39-year-old nonprofit that broadcasts articles featured in newspapers and magazines for people who are blind or unable to read due to other disabilities. In addition, CRIS is the only service in the nation to offer the largest line-up of human narrated children’s magazines and Spanish-language news
