I Am AMERICA -Windsor Art Center
On Thursday, November 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, FREE event: In conjunction with Americana 1, an exhibition exploring the territory of what we call “America,” the Windsor Art Center will present I Am America, a panel discussion introduced by Robert DiNiro’s film Ellis. While the topic of immigration – especially Latin American immigration – is currently a hot political topic, the panel’s focus will be on the role of art in the experience of artists in their journey from their Latin American countries of origin to their life and culture in to the United States.

WWI Palisado Cemetery Tour
World War I was effectively ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, one hundred years ago. On Sunday, November 11 at 2 p.m., join Windsor Historical Society’s executive director Christine Ermenc at the entrance of Palisado Cemetery for a tour commemorating Windsor residents who served on World War I’s battlefields and assisted at the home front. Discover the stories of Windsor residents like Harold Loomer who etched the names of all of the bases where he served onto his mess kit. Nearby is the grave marker of Dorothy Clark Hayden who served as a Red Cross

On November 10,2018 between 9-2 please help FIRST team Blazing Spirits and FIRST team Paragon collect Turkeys and Twenties . The two teams will be bringing the turkeys and twenties to our local Windsor food bank. Their hope is to give all who need a helping hand over holiday season.

Nutmeg Senior Rides Volunteer Info
Good drivers make good friends. Join the Volunteer driver team at Nutmeg Senior Rides and help a friend you haven’t met yet with a ride to the doctor, work, the store, a friend’s house or to church.

Nutmeg Senior Rides is a private not-for-profit 501 c3 and they need drivers in North Central Connecticut to drive people over 50 who can no longer drive get where they need to be. Drivers can choose the rides they do online to fit their schedule.

Information luncheon sessions are being held on:

Windsor C.A.R.E.S. SOCKTOBER- The summer has ended and the winter months will be upon us before we know it. The winter months are extremely difficult for those who are homeless and need to stay warm. C.A.R.E.S. will be collecting NEW winter socks throughout the month of October to be distributed this holiday season to those in need.

NEW socks can be dropped off at the Social Services office at the LP Wilson Community Center.

Join Northwest Park staff for an exciting “Owl Prowl” on Saturday November 10th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Give a hoot about these magnificent birds with an informative session on the lives of Connecticut’s native owls. You're invited to the Windsor Palette and Brush Club's annual fall art exhibition at the Windsor Town Hall. The opening reception is Sunday November 4 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Please use rear entrance at 275 Broad St, Windsor.
The show dates are Sunday, November 4 to Thursday, November 29 during the Windsor Town Hall's regular hours of Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Reception and show are free and open to the public.
