Windsor C.A.R.E.S. SOCKTOBER- The summer has ended and the winter months will be upon us before we know it. The winter months are extremely difficult for those who are homeless and need to stay warm. C.A.R.E.S. will be collecting NEW winter socks throughout the month of October to be distributed this holiday season to those in need.

NEW socks can be dropped off at the Social Services office at the LP Wilson Community Center.

Beginning Thursday, September 6th through October 18th join Blue Moon Yoga for “Fall Yoga in the Park” each Thursday from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM. Learn breathing techniques, yoga postures and experience essential oils. You will leave relaxed and energized. Bring a mat and blanket and come experience open flow yoga for all levels. The latest crop of First Town Downtown Heritage Bricks will be installed on Wednesday, October 3 into the brick patio on the green across from Central Street from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Home Alone Safety Class
Home Alone Safety Class is offered by the Windsor Youth Services for all boys and girls ages 8 to 13 years old who are left home alone. This program takes place at 330 Windsor Avenue Community Center from 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, September 29. The course will cover all the safety concerns parents have when their children are by themselves. Students will learn to be more aware of the potential dangers that they could face when left home alone. Please call 860 285 1990 with any questions.

Registration for the Town of Windsor Citizen’s Academy is now open for the fall session. Here’s your chance to learn more about the operation of Town of Windsor departments in an informal, fun way. The First Town Downtown 2018 Farmers’ Market will begin its 10th season on Thursday, June 28 from 3:30 to 6:30 at 240 Broad Street in Windsor Center. The Farmers' Market will run every Thursday through October 18th. This well-attended local marketplace in Windsor Center includes locally grown fruits, vegetables, baked goods, herbs, eggs, cheese, skincare products, candles and more.
