This coming Saturday, a few friends and I are hosting a toy drive to help support over 200 families in Windsor who are in need of assistance, so their children's letters to Santa do not go unanswered.

Our beloved community of Windsor has a long tradition of coming together to provide for our neighbors who need it the most. It would mean the world to me if you could join us this Saturday and together we will make the 2021 holiday season a memorable celebration for all.

Windsor Recreation & Youth Services will be conducting the Third Annual Deck the House: Holiday Light Contest this year! Winners of each prize will win Visa Gift Cards and bragging rights! The holiday season is here, and we are all looking for that special man cave or she shed gift for friends and family . What a better place to find that unique gift than at the December 4th swap meet at the Vintage Radio & Communications Museum of CT at 115 Pierson Lane in Windsor, CT. Local Museum Helps with Production of Willie Pep documentary
The Vintage Radio & Communications Museum of CT located in Windsor, CT was in the right place at the right time to help get the long-delayed production of the story of Willie Pep, Connecticut’s own world featherweight boxing champion, into its final stage. This production, which is being filmed in the Hartford area, has been delayed by a number of things, including the Covid-19 pandemic.

Voices Against Lyme Disease a 501(c)3, based in Windsor, CT is continuing their Support Group for those with a tickborne illness or a family member and friends. This group meets on the first and third Saturday of every month and is free to anyone wishing to join us. We use strict COVID 19 guidelines for our meetings. In addition, to support discussions we also provide up to date research information on tick borne illnesses, awareness and prevention.

Enjoy the holiday lights, trees and inflatables with Santa and his little helpers outside of L.P. Wilson Community Center. Take the opportunity before Santa leaves for the North Pole. Bring your own camera for a free picture with Santa. Work on an arts & crafts project in Santa’s Workshop, see special captions of one of the holiday classics Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on the tennis courts. There will be hot cocoa and donuts. This event is entirely outdoors and free to attend.

Carmon Community Funeral Homes of Windsor and Windsor’s American Legion Gray-Dickenson Post #59 will host its annual Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, December 18th at 12 p.m. at the Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery on East St. All are invited to attend this special event that will be held on the same day as more than 2,500 similar wreath-laying ceremonies will be held across the U.S., at sea and abroad. Last year, more than 500 wreaths were placed by volunteers in Windsor.

Anyone may purchase $15 wreaths to be placed at the December 18th ceremony and all payments

Kimberly Hall North hosts an Alzheimer's Support Group for anyone taking care of a loved one with Alzheimer's or a related dementia or if you would like to learn more about the disease. The group is open to both members of the community or those who have loved ones at Kimberly Hall.

Kate Bartelmo, is the support group leader she is a MSW, Certified Dementia Practitioner and has been running a support group for over 10 years. The group is affiliated with The Alzheimer's Association.
