Walk of Light
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the Town of Windsor will host a “Walk of Light” community remembrance ceremony on the historic Windsor Town Green at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Approximately 3,000 paper luminary bags, one for each individual who lost their life on September 11, 2001 will line the sidewalks of the green. Each luminary bag has been inscribed with the name of a person who perished on 9/11. The bags will be illuminated with glow sticks at dusk.

The Windsor Health Department and Windsor Public Schools will be sponsoring a DPH Van: Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Thursday, August 5th and again on Thursday, August 26th. Through this partnership, the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available to Windsor residents in the community.

The Mobile Vaccine Clinic will be held at Windsor High School in the cafeteria from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Persons interested in getting a vaccine can simply walk-in for a vaccine, no appointment is required. In addition, the Pfizer vaccine may be used for you

The Society hopes to make its centennial a celebration of all Windsor’s people and history - Windsor residents are invited to drop in to experience traveling local history exhibits, add their photo to a giant Windsor map, share their favorite Windsor stories in WIN-TV’s special recording booth, enjoy children’s games and activities, local food vendors and more!

The Windsor Health Department is hosting a series of 6 Hypertension Workshops or High Blood Pressure Workshops. These workshops are scheduled over the summer and will be offered via Zoom. The dates and topics are listed below. In addition, each time you return the workshop evaluation and the Pre-Diabetes Risk Test, you will receive a $5 First Town Downtown Gift Card with a maximum of $30 awarded.

Riverfront Recapture Call For Artists
Calling all artists! The Joe Marfuggi Riverwalk RFQ is open through September 30.
Riverfront Recapture and the Joe Marfuggi Riverwalk Public Art Committee (The Committee) have opened a Request for Qualifications to identify qualified artists interested in developing site-specific permanent artwork to be installed along the Joe Marfuggi Riverwalk. This RFQ is the first phase of a two-phase process, the second is a Request for Proposals, where selected artists will provide their vision and ideas for the project.
