The 2020 Country Fair has blossomed into a fun filled group of events around Windsor!

Events will take place around Windsor, Northwest Park, and your very own yards and gardens.

(You can start growing those flowers and veggies now!)

Family friendly mix of traditional and new events will include:
• Pumpkin decorating
• Scarecrow competition
• Cow patty bingo
• Silent auction
• Nature photos
• Garden competition
• Scavenger hunt
• Sidewalk chalk drawing
• Egg drop contest
• Curb appeal contest

All awards will be presented at the end of September

The Windsor Lions Club is sponsoring a “No Contact” Spring Bulb Fundraiser. Working with, “Bulbs for Change”, from Middlebury Vermont, the Lions offer Spring bulbs of the highest quality, that can be ordered online. These bulbs come directly from the Netherlands, are 100% guaranteed, and will be delivered directly to your home.

Given the focus on policing across our nation, WPD invites you to share your experiences with policing in Windsor. Please join Chief Melanson in a conversation to share your thoughts on policing and to provide input on how Windsor can better provide services to our community. All are welcome to attend.

Our Goal: To bring police and residents together to facilitate understanding, increase communication, and to engage our community as we discuss the department’s overall philosophy and approach to policing.

Free E-Cycling Event
Saturday, September 5, is your chance to lighten up by recycling all the electronic hardware you no longer use or need. The Windsor Conservation Commission in cooperation with TAKE 2 E-Cycle will hold an Electronic Recycling event behind the Windsor Town Hall from 9am-1pm. You do not have to get out of your vehicle. Open your trunk or cargo space and TAKE 2 attendants will be on hand to pick up the electronic hardware.

The First Town Downtown Farmers’ Market for 2020 runs from July 2 through October 15 on Thursdays from 3:30 - 6:30 pm at 240 Broad Street in Windsor Center. This well-attended local marketplace in Windsor Center includes locally grown fruits, vegetables, baked goods, herbs, eggs, cheese, skincare products, candles and more.

We are very excited to be moving forward with the Farmers' Market with new guidelines to keep everyone safe. Masks are required.

There is a great deal of uncertainty going forward with large scale events. The health and safety of our participants and volunteers are at the forefront of our minds as we try to plan our event. Therefore, we have made the decision to convert our race to a virtual race this year.

During these unprecedented and challenging times, the Windsor Education Foundation is proud to announce it is supporting the Office of Family and Community Partnership for Windsor Public Schools as families, teachers and students navigate remote, in-person and distance learning. That partnership is asking the community to donate new school supplies or support through monetary donations so that students learning from home this year will have the resources they need to succeed.
