NWP Nature Center is an information hub and home to many live animals and exhibits. Outside you may see bluebirds, deer, turtles and turkeys. Windsor Art Center 40 Mechanic Street, Windsor (860) 683-0943 The Windsor Art Center is an exciting place to enjoy visual and performing arts in Windsor. The Center began in 2007 when a group of local citizens who were interested in securing a greater presence for the arts in town came together to plan and present the works of local artists. Windsor Art Center annually presents twenty-four music performances, four poetry events, and six visual art exhibitions showcasing artists from throughout New England and beyond. Artist talks and children's activities round out seasonal programming. There is no admission charge to frequent the gallery or to visit the small gift shop. The Center relies upon donations to help sustain its programming. All funds go to support art and artists. Bridging Centuries, Bridging Cultures: 400 Years of Windsor Stories exhibit is on view as well as two beautiful 18th century homes. Visit our research library filled with fascinating old photographs and documents. Families especially will enjoy Hands-On-History Learning Center where they can try on colonial costumes, "cook" a meal on the open hearth, "milk" the cow, and attend a one-room school.
