Director of the Year

The director of the year is given to a Board member or members who contributes the three "W"s: "Work, Wisdom and Wealth" in his or her responsibilities to the board.

2019: Mary-Lynn Kinney

2019: Mary-Lynn Kinney
Mary-Lynn Kinney has been the Chamber's Treasurer for over ten years, dedicating countless hours on budgets, monthly reports and all manner of other financial matters, so that we don't have to.


Mary-Lynn Kinney is the Senior Vice President / Chief Financial Officer for Windsor Federal Savings whose responsibilities include managing and overseeing the day-to-day financial and accounting aspects for the Association.

Starting in August of 2000 as Vice President / Controller, she quickly was promoted in April 2003 to Vice President / Chief Financial Officer and again in July 2007 to her current position due to her extensive financial analysis, budgeting experience and over 25 years in the financial industry.

Prior to joining Windsor Federal Savings, Mary-Lynn held the position of Vice President of Accounting and Financial Reporting for Mechanics Savings Bank. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and an honors graduate of the National School of Banking, she also held the position of Treasurer for the Huntington House Museum. Mary-Lynn and her family live in South Windsor, CT.

2018: Pamela Crouch

2018: Pamela Crouch
Pamela is the Director of Sales for the Homewood Suites Windsor Locks CT. She is responsible for the Sales and Marketing for the property. The Homewood Suites is a 132-All Suite Property offering many amenities for long-term stay guests.

Pamela has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, and on the Windsor Chamber Golf Committee.

Pamela was a member of the Glastonbury Chamber for over 10 years and served on their Ambassador Committee. Pam is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Apple Harvest Festival celebrating her 10th year this fall.

Pam has also held other volunteer positions, secretary for the Glastonbury Republican Town Committee and co-president of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Friends where she was involved with both raising money for the hospital and deciding how it was allocated.

Pamela has a passion for volunteerism. She is actively involved with the Glastonbury YMCA, and recently supporting Christmas Wish of CT, a local program granting wishes for food, gifts, warm clothing to Connecticut residents.

Pamela is a residence of Glastonbury, CT where she lives with her son, Nicholas.

Aaron Simons: Business Development Officer, 360 Federal Credit Union: As the Business Development Officer for 360 Federal Credit Union, Aaron actively works to develop relationships with businesses and community members to promote credit union products and services. Working closely with the Marketing and Event departments, Aaron aims to establish, promote and grow new business. Aaron’s experience includes account executive at Lincoln Waste Solutions, LLC and Concentra Urgent Care. He has his Bachelor’s degree in Communications/PR with a minor in Journalism from Central Connecticut State University and resides in Enfield, CT with his wife and 2 pug puppies.

2015 - Jenny Castle, Jenny Castle Human Resources Consulting

Jenny Castle, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is the owner of Jenny Castle Human Resources Consulting. After 16 years of working in the fields of manufacturing, transportation and supply chain and logistics, Ms. Castle had a desire to share her passion for Human Resources with a larger group of people. In January of 2014 she established her consulting firm. She currently works with small to mid-sized companies to provide strategies, solutions and support so business owners can focus on what they do best – operating their company.

Ms. Castle has delivered many presentations, some of which include Diversity in the Workplace, Managing Generations in the Workplace, Why Companies Like Yours Get Sued and Managing Your Worker’s Compensation Claims. She has been cited in the Society for Human Resource Management monthly magazine (Volume 55, No. 6) on working with employees with disabilities and has appeared in a story on CNN Money titled, “Walgreens welcomes employees with disabilities” in 2011.

Ms. Castle holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Human Resource Management. She belongs to the Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut, The Society for Human Resource Management and is on the Board of Directors for the Windsor Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she enjoys reading and traveling.

2014 - Marshall Fox

2014 - Marshall Fox
Marshall Fox is the General Manager of Konica Minolta's Windsor facility. Konica Minolta moved to Windsor in 1981 and part of their mission was, and still is, to be socially responsible by supporting the Windsor community. Marshall started with the company in 1980 in their Hartford branch office and moved to the Windsor facility in 1984. A life-long resident of Connecticut he has lived in Wethersfield, Cromwell, South Windsor, Enfield and now resides in Suffield. He served for many years on the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department and on the Board of Directors for the Associates Federal Credit Union. He has two daughters in college; Jessica and Holly.

2013 - Frank Carmon IV

2013 - Frank Carmon IV
Frank Carmon is a licensed funeral director and owner of Carmon Community Funeral Homes, which operates eight funeral homes in the Hartford, CT area. Started in 1946 by Carmon's grandfather, the funeral home is still very much a family owned and operated business with six family members working in the day-to-day operations of the firm. Frank graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1998, and from St. John's University in 1999. In 2006, Frank received his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut, School of Business with a concentration in finance.

Frank was the first member of the third generation of his family to join Carmon Funeral Homes as a licensed funeral director. He started working for the company in 1994 and has worked in all facets of the family firm.

A resident of Tolland, Frank is also very active in the Town of Windsor where he was raised. He is a member of the Exchange Club of Windsor, Washington Masonic Lodge #70, and serves on the board of directors for the Windsor Historical Society and the Windsor Chamber of Commerce. A proud alumnus of the UConn School of Business, Frank also serves on the board of directors of the Alumni & Friends Society at the School of Business and he is a board member of the National Development Council for the University.

While working in a demanding business, Frank also likes to take time to learn new concepts and ideas and spends a lot of time reading and attending classes and seminars. In his spare time, Frank enjoys dining at area restaurants, boating, traveling, and spending time with his family.

2011 - Ray Embury

2011 - Ray Embury
Originally from Michigan, Ray is a 1970 graduate of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, He holds a BA in Business Administration. Ray re-located to Connecticut with his wife Cal in 1974. They have two boys. Ray began his career in 1974 with the Hartford based Royal Business Machines as a Field Service Technician and in 1981 was promoted to the Windsor corporate headquarters of Konica Business Machines which is now Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. Several job responsibilities later Ray is now the Manager of Community Relations, Office Services and Konica Minolta's in-plant and commercial print provider, the bizhub Image Center. Ray also serves on the Board of Directors of the Windsor Associates Federal Credit Union and Tallwood Men's Club, in Hebron CT.

2010 - Paula M. Pierce

2010 - Paula M. Pierce
Paula M. Pierce is a Windsor High School and Loyola College graduate holding a B.A. degree in English Literature. Paula is the owner of Hosting Connecticut, LLC; a full service website development company. She and her husband, Michael, enjoy living in Windsor for its peaceful atmosphere and its community spirit.

Paula attended almost every Business Breakfast and After Hours event for the first three or four years she was a member of the Chamber. She has also served on a number of Chamber committees, such as the Annual Auction, White Lights, Revolutionary Windsor, and Technology and has been the chair of the Tourism committee for the last several years.

Paula is a Notary Public and is the volunteer moderator of Windsor Freecycle, a group of over 1600 Windsor people keeping good, usable items out of the landfill.

2009 - Kristen Barbarotta

2009 - Kristen Barbarotta
Kristen grew up in Trumbull, CT. She graduated Wesleyan University in 2000 with a BA in History and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in May 2003 with her JD.

Kristen is a partner at local Law Firm Johnson, Dowe, Brown, and Barbarotta LLC in Windsor. Kristen's husband Jayson is a a teacher at Newington High School. They live in Windsor Locks with their daughter Reese.
