Up-cycled Planter Challenge
Local businesses and individuals are invited to sponsor an artist/garden designer, who will create an up-cycled planter that will bring monarch butterflies to our community. Your sponsor fee of $60 will provide plants, potting soil, and signage that will credit both sponsor and planter designer. All of the materials used for these planters will be up-cycled by the artist or purchased from local Windsor businesses. During the week July 2 -11, 2021, these unique planters will be showcased outside of sponsor businesses around Windsor and the Center. The public will be encouraged to visit these business locations, in order to vote for their favorite planter. At the end of the week, we will offer an online auction, so that the public will have the opportunity to purchase one of these unique planters for their own yard. This event promises to bring foot traffic to sponsor businesses, while we educate the public about the vital importance that monarch butterflies play in our environment. It will also showcase up-cycling ordinary objects into beautiful and useful artwork. If you would like to sponsor a planter for display outside of your business, please fill out the attached form and return it with your check by April 30, 2021.
