Many Rivers Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Many Rivers Community Acupuncture is celebrating a decade of providing affordable acupuncture in Connecticut. Many Rivers opened its doors in May 2011 in Windsor.

Founded by Carrie Sawtell, L.Ac., Many Rivers reached its initial goal of giving 100 treatments per week by the end of its first year in business.

“When I moved back to Connecticut after living in China, I only knew a few people in the area,” says Sawtell. “The business community of Windsor welcomed me with open arms and provided incredible support since I was a first-time small business owner.”

Word spread quickly about the affordable and effective community acupuncture model. Soon Many Rivers had a wait list for treatments, and Sawtell hired additional acupuncturists and reception staff to meet the demand. After four years at its downtown Windsor location, Many Rivers expanded to a larger location on Bloomfield Avenue.

“We have a high volume - low cost business model,” explains Sawtell. “We treat multiple people per hour to keep the cost of each treatment low. But we have enough room so that everyone can rest for an hour of treatment time.”

Many Rivers moved to Bloomfield in February of 2019. They had been searching for a handicap accessible location and found the perfect spot in Bloomfield center. Their patients and staff love the new clinic with its elevator accessibility and large windows that let in natural light and fresh air.

Since opening, the acupuncturists at Many Rivers have provided over 73,500 acupuncture treatments on an affordable sliding scale.

Many Rivers is taking the entire month of May to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Every time a person receives a treatment in May, they will be entered into the Many Rivers “Thank You Raffle.” The grand prize is ten free acupuncture treatments. Many Rivers will also provide other raffle items and surprise giveaways to thank their loyal patients for a decade in business.

“Our community is the reason for our success,” says Many Rivers acupuncturist Mary Cole, L.Ac. “Lots of people don’t know what acupuncture can do. Our patients keep referring friends and family and telling people about the many benefits of acupuncture.”
