Saturday, November 14 fundraiser for Windsor Food & Fuel Bank. $5 Contribution Gets Donors 20 Percent Off Almost All That Fits in a 5-Gallon Pail. With the holidays just weeks away, a Windsor Center business is encouraging area residents to step up and come assist those in town who can use some help during these challenging times. This Saturday, November 14th between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Windsor Ace Hardware at 296 Broad St. will host a fundraiser for the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank, an event that also offers donors a shopping discount in the store that day. Anyone who comes in and contributes at least $5 gets a 5-gallon utility bucket along with 20 percent off on almost anything in the store that fits in it. Volunteers and staff from the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank will be at the Windsor Ace Hardware entrance in the Geissler’s Supermarket parking lot to personally accept donations and thank everyone for their generosity. “Now more than ever, it is important that the community steps up to support our neighbors and we hope many people stop by on November 14th to help the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank,” explains Scott Hoffman, owner of Windsor Ace Hardware. “Since many are looking for a way to share a little ‘giving spirit’ this time of year, we hope to raise many dollars and lots of public awareness for this local effort.” For more information about the November 14th fundraiser, call Windsor Ace Hardware at 860-688-8373. The Windsor Food & Fuel Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1967 as the Windsor Community Service Council (WCSC). The all-volunteer Board along with our partners at Windsor Social Services, works to accomplish our Mission of ensuring that no Windsor resident goes hungry, is cold, or is without basic necessities. The generosity of local individuals, businesses, civic and religious organizations provides for 95 percent of the WF&FB’s annual operating budget. For more information, visit www.windsorfoodbank.org. Windsor residents who need assistance should call 860-285-1839. |
