The Kiwanis Club of Windsor is the proud sponsor of one of the longest continuously running road races in the state of Connecticut, attracting runners from Connecticut and surrounding states. The event, now called the Annual Kiwanis Shad Derby Road Race, will be the 48th in the series. The 5K road race is also accompanied by a 2.5K fun walk. The 5K race takes you through parts of the town of Windsor, the oldest town in Connecticut, starting on the Windsor Green, along the picturesque Farmington River and back to the Windsor Green. The Kiwanis Club will award racers medallions for the top finishers in individual age/gender categories as well as for the overall men and women’s first place finishers. T-shirts given to the first 100 registrants.
