Learn about the rich history of the Connecticut Freedom Trail and visit the Windsor Freedom Trail sites that are associated with African-American heritage and movement towards freedom at today’s 3.9 mile Windsor Freedom Trail Walking Tour. Everyone will meet at the Archer Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church at 7:30 AM and then be transported to the first site, Riverside Cemetery on East Street, to start the tour. (A bus will follow the walkers.) Participants will then walk to the Nancy Toney grave site, the Joseph Rainey House, the William Best House, and the historic Archer Memorial church cemetery. A Freedom Trail visor will be given to all participating walkers and a continental breakfast will be available at the church for event participants after the walk. Free.
