Fish Ladder Tour!
On Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 1 to 2:30 p.m., take this rare opportunity to tour Windsor’s Rainbow Dam and Fish Ladder and the Farmington River Power Company built by Stanley Works in 1925. You will see historic photographs and learn how the turbines and generators work with Don Zessin, Plant Manager. Then view migrating fish, observe how a fish ladder and fish traps operate, and learn more about fish habits from Bruce Williams of the Inland Fish Division of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Join us at the Windsor Library to listen Jazz by the DeChamplains. The music Atla and Matt present is reminiscent of some of America’s most loved performers including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby. It was their love for jazz that originally brought Atla & Matt together, and now their passion is to share this classic music with a modern jazz audience. The Coffee Hour will be led by Wayne I. Rioux, Veterans Liaison for Hartford Health Care at Home. Wayne is an Army Vietnam Era Veteran and a retired Connecticut State Police Lieutenant. Wayne brings 6 years of experience in sharing information and assisting Veterans with benefits, entitlements, including financial assistance.

 Tick Awareness Poster Contest
Join " Voices Against Lyme Disease CT" a non-profit organization based in Windsor for a viewing of the 3rd grade Windsor Students' Tick Awareness Posters on display at the Windsor Public Library. We will be awarding the winners of the contest with gifts as well presenting the Windsor Elementary Schools Library/media areas with Tick Awareness educational material.

In addition, we have invited many town officials, BOE, teachers and students. We are fortunate in having an educator and author of children's books about Lyme Disease and the tick environment joining us from Washington/Baltimore ar

Keney Park Golf Course is assembling a u13 golf team who will compete against
competitive teams from the greater Hartford area. Practices and games will take place Sunday afternoons from the end of May through our last game in July.

PK-5 Summer Reading Book Fair
Windsor Public Schools (WPS) is hosting a PK-5 Summer Reading Book Fair, during the week of May 20th. The Fair is open daily, Monday-Thursday, from 2-4:30 and 5:30-8:00 (Thursday ONLY). Enter through the LPW Community Center and follow the signs to the BOE Conference Room. All proceeds will go to the purchase of books for WPS's summer reading events.
